The Unique and Special Nature of the Astrology Kite Pattern

The Unique and Special Nature of the Astrology Kite Pattern

The most intriguing of the geometric astrology patterns is called the “Kite Pattern ” or the “Astrology Kite Formation.” Its most distinct feature is the actual shape outlining a simple kite. (See image below.)

The inspiration for this article is the upcoming kite formation occurring on at the exact moment of the Winter Solstice of 2015. My prediction is that, in retrospect, astrologer’s will look back to this date, and in particular this astrology kite pattern of Dec 2015 and say that it was a major turning point 21st century history. Will history reflect an element of fate or free will?

Is there a Fate Aspect to the Astrology Kite Formation?

The Kite Pattern is much more than a recognizable shape. It also has a traditional association with fate and/or destiny.

This correlation with fate and destiny results from the combination of geometric relationships formed between three distinct astrological patterns. Together these key patterns and the basic root meanings of the different planets involved activate key astrological concepts.

Because of its unusual power, this an energy that is often experienced as fate. An appropriate question to ask at this point is whether or not what is really happening is true “Fate,” or something else? I would assert that in order to understand the meaning of the kite and answer this question about Fate, we first need to breakdown the meaning of the pattern by examining the three individual components of the formation.

The key patterns of the kite are composed of three types of astrological aspects or angles. These angles are formed by the individual planets that create the pattern.

• The first aspect is a grand trine, consisting of three planets approximately 120° from each other. The grand trine is special within its own right and is considered a major astrology pattern.
• The second pattern is a partial grand sextile consisting of three planets. Two of these planets are separated by  approximately 120.° The third planet is located at their mid-point, and forms two separate angles of 60°.
• The third and final aspect is an opposition, in which two planets are approximately 180° from each other.

When all of these patterns are perfectly aligned they form the kite. This pattern can contain as few planets as four. In the sample astrology chart for Winter Solstice 2015, you’ll notice a total of six astrology points consisting of the Moon, Jupiter, North Node, Venus, Mercury, and Pluto. The main point to take away from this discussion thus far is that an astrology kite is uncommon. It’s rare for this many planets to be located at these exact positions in the zodiac.

Overview of the Patterns within the Kite Formation

Winter Solstice Kite Astrology Chart 2015Each pattern within the kite contributes a specific aspect to the formula.  The Grand Trine pattern holds the overall energy of the planet Venus and the number three (3). The planet Venus , with the vibration of (3), holds a tremendous amount of power that translates directly to that we experience as “Love.” In general, this Venus-type of energy is harmonious, with a balancing element that inspires something full of beauty and form, and attracts to  life a vision of something greater.

The power of the Grand Trine can be understood by working with the three elements, or sides of the triangle, which represent three fundamental areas of life. These three fundamental cornerstones are: the generation of power, the concentration of power, and the distribution of power.  One of the mysteries of “Love” is the process whereby Love can be generated, concentrated into something that is cherished, and then distributed to others. This generative process explains why life cannot exist without love.

The second pattern, the Partial Grand Sextile, holds the magic of Jupiter and the frequency of six (6) embedded within its astrological pattern. The full grand sextile pattern consists of six planets, each separated by a 60° phase within the entire cycle of 360° (6 x 60°=360°).  Each individual phase of the six Jupiter phases represents a distinct stage of any sequential development. Understanding these six Jupiter phases is the key to understanding one of the more hidden secrets of Jupiter.

The Six (6) Jupiter Phases of 60°
1. Emergence
2. Development
3. Expression
4. Incorporation
5. Cooperation
6. Full Maturity

The partial grand sextile of the Kite Pattern consists of three of the six phases of the full Grand Sextile. Determining which of the three phases are involved in the partial grand sextile is the key to understanding its deepest meaning. For example, the three phases of the partial grand sextile in the 2015 Winter Solstice chart are calculated to be 3rd, 4th, and 5th phases. As you can see from the list above, these phases correspond to the processes of Expression, Incorporation, and Cooperation.

Neptune holds the Key to Metamorphosis

The Opposition is the third pattern of the kite, and forms the backbone that holds together the entire configuration. It is created by the combination of the partial grand sextile together with the Grand Trine. Working together the two patterns create an opposition which forms the backbone of the kite.

When we break down the energies, we have Venus (3) plus Jupiter (6) combined together to create something larger and even more encompassing.

Venus (3) + Jupiter (6) = Neptune (9)

The overall energy of the astrology kite pattern is that of the planet (9) Neptune. This Neptunian energy is the secret to understanding the significance of the kite.

The activation factor is triggered by the opposition of two of the planets located in the kite at 180°.  This opposition factor of the kite needs to be reconciled as a way of coming into relationship with two opposites.

Neptune is the final key to unlocking the full meaning of the astrology kite configuration.  At the most basic level, Neptune activates metamorphosis and creative change that is either spiritual in nature, or illusionary within the 3D realm. When we understand the transcendent elements of Neptune, we can see the way that Neptune’s  spiritual perspective is being activated within the Astrology Kite Formation.

What’s activated by the opposition created by the patterns of Venus (3) and Jupiter (9) is a paradox resulting in two opposites that need to be reconciled. This is the same paradox that occurs within the meaning of the Neptunian concept of metamorphosis. There is a Mystery embedded here. How can a crawling caterpillar completely transform into a flying butterfly? Metamorphosis is the single work that describes this mysterious process and is the key to understanding both Neptune and the pattern of the astrology kite.

Now that we have broken down the numerological and geometrical meanings  of the kite, let’s explore the overall meaning a practical way to understand its application within a chart.

What is the Overall Astrological Meaning of a Kite Pattern in a Chart?

The meaning of a kite configuration in an astrology chart can vary depending on which planets are in the four main kite locations. Remember, for a kite pattern to exist, it must contain planets in each of the locations that create the correct geometric formation.

The basic generic meaning of the kite is an active and dynamic demonstration or expression of how an individual can use the power of “life and love” to expand into a greater role of responsibility through cooperation and maturity.

Each person that experiences an astrological kite will also have the chance to activate their own paradox in order to solve it. The solution for unraveling the paradox will point to each of the two sides of the opposition that occurs within the kite. One side of the opposition will correspond to the grand trine, while the opposite side will correspond to the partial grand sextile. The conflict is symbolized by the opposition’s theme and acts as the activation trigger.

The only viable solution to the apparent contradiction of the opposition or paradox, is to creatively act through the power of love, harmony, and beauty (the trine of (3) Venus) through an active and organized type of integration (the partial grand sextile of (6) Jupiter). From the individual perspective, this solution seems so natural, engrained and compelling that it’s often mistaken for “Fate.”

“Free Will” verses “Fate”

The energy operating behind the astrology kite pattern is so geometrically dynamic that the corresponding details and events that play out in one’s life can feel as if they are scripted. To the contrary, life is not scripted, nor are we controlled by fate.

There is a phenomenon, however, that surrounds the astrology kite pattern that resembles fate. This occurs when individual “free will” isn’t exercised and the astrological opposition or paradox within the kite cannot be resolved.

This can be clearly seen within the (6) Jupiter energy of the kite, found within the partial grand sextile. Jupiter’s expansion within human consciousness only occurs through a type of integration that ends in maturity. This can also be seen within the naturally occurring six phases of Jupiter mentioned earlier, where the cycle ends in a state of “full maturity,” indicating that the cycle of expansion was complete or successful.

Activation of the “kite principle” in one’s life occurs through a free will attempt to reconcile the paradox contained within the astrological kite pattern itself. Each time this free will exercise occurs, it creates an ease or flow that allows for Neptunian types of creative change to occur. As such, whenever the paradox cannot be resolved, the shadow side of Neptunian illusion can also manifest in a negative way that may resemble a fated outcome.

Overall, the Astrology Kite Formation represents an extraordinary opportunity for growth, creative change, and even a Neptunian type of total metamorphosis and transformation.

The Age of Aquarius: Has the Quickening Begun?

by Steven Shroyer

The age of Aquarius will last approximately 2160 years. What is yet to be known is when this period will actually begins and the idea that perhaps it already has. This article explores the energies that drive Aquarius so that we can better understand what humankind can expect during the imminent Aquarian age.

The Aquarius Quickening: The Meaning of a Double Aquarian New Moon

Double New Moon Period
January 20, 2015 to February 18, 2015

The Double Aquarian New Moon is a rare astrological event. Astrological records don’t go back far enough to find the last double Aquarian New Moon with a second New Moon conjunction with Neptune in Pisces.

The significance of the second New Moon conjunction is enhanced by Neptune’s relationship to Pisces. Neptune is the natural ruler of Pisces and the Age of Aquarius is transitioning from the Age of Pisces. Also significant, is the precession of equinox, which occurs opposite the direction of the Sun. The Sun is moving from Aquarius to Pisces to Aries while the precession of equinox is moving from Aries to Pisces to Aquarius. While the precession of equinox is an interesting phenomenon, this article will only focus on the Aquarian energies that are being expressed.

A Double New Moon encompasses the entire Lunar cycle occurring in a single zodiac sign which condenses the power of a single sign into a Lunar cycle creating organic growth. The development of our brains and consciousness is intimately tied the Lunar cycle through this same organic process.

The significance of this organic process lies in the understanding that each zodiac sign has 30 degrees. Each degree is its own chapter and tells an entire story that functions as an important archetype to explain the flow of energy.

The 1° of Aquarius starts an important new energy process. It begins with a new principle emerging with the need to unfold and develop, next it expresses what’s been learned, followed by a period where these new principles are incorporated into strategies for success, and then new ways to cooperate with others before maturation of the initial process is completed which ends at 30°. In Sabian Astrology this referred to as the six-fold realm of maturity. It is closely linked to the cyclic numerology of six. These cyclic principles of unfolding can be broken down into the following.

1. Emerge
2. Develop
3. Express
4. Incorporate
5. Cooperate
6. Mature

The completion of this six-fold process, is the equivalent of the Lunar cycle consuming, or using, the energy of a complete zodiac sign and can be one of the most powerful periods of time during an one’s entire lifetime.

The key to using this information lies in understanding the quickening process of Aquarius. It is very likely that the zodiac month of Aquarius is in fact the quickening event to initiate the Age of Aquarius. We are not exactly sure when this event will take place, however it is an unprecedented event that will help usher in the Age of Aquarius.

The Energy Signature of Aquarius

Aquarius-water-bearerTo better understand the energy signature of Aquarius and the opportunity it offers, we can turn to its traditional symbol, the water bearer. Even though Aquarius is an air sign, it is associated with the flow of water that represents the  downward flow of spiritual energy. The energy flows as light from the cosmos into our consciousness.

Another important aspect to understanding Aquarian energy is the significance of Uranus which is the ruler of Aquarius. Uranus is involved in the receiving of non-linear information which is often referred to as a download. This “download” is the water symbol depicted as the flowing water archetype of Aquarius. The “air” in Aquarius represents the quickening of consciousness and therefore the need to discipline the mind in order maximize the Aquarian ability to organize and contribute through skill and management.

The story of Aquarius begins with “pure energy” flowing from above. It’s power is vitalizing and expresses itself through the planetary ruler for Aquarius which is Uranus. Uranus functions through the principle of “creative change” and therefore quickens whatever it touches by transforming it into the individual in order to create something unique.

The Aquarian Story

Through Aquarian energy, the individual is “vitalized” by universal values. These are the expansive archetypes of the cosmos which the individual allows to flow directly into their consciousness from the universe.

This flow is the process known by many names: innovation, brilliance, inspiration, inner guidance, and the higher-Self. Aquarian energy is so powerful that unless this quickening and vitalizing flow of energy has an adequate outlet for expression, then the shadow side emerges becoming erratic, volatile, and unstable.

Aquarian energy is meant to be experienced as the internal evolutionary urge that exists as one’s inspired contribution to Self and others. Coming to terms with the responsibility and the management required to make an evolutionary difference in the world requires discipline, even if it has to take the form of revolutionary action.

Once discipline is applied to this Aquarian energy, then organization and management begins to transform the individual and whatever the individual has chosen to manage. As a result, consciousness itself is then quickened to a higher evolutionary level of inspiration that can be experienced as a higher purpose in the world.

Success is the by-product of this quickening and transformative process. Success permeates one’s life through a new and natural reorientation based on the evolutionary changes taking place in one’s consciousness.

Discipline can then transform into mental efficiency and becomes a new type of illumination which is rooted in new meaning and significance. The final result of this vitalizing and quickening process prepares us for the possibility of a metamorphosis through creative change that operates at the transpersonal level.

Living life beyond the personal level (transpersonal) carries the responsibility of understanding that your personal involvement does make a difference, and has significance that is beyond your life span, or immediate results. The final result is a complete cycle of creative change, or metamorphosis, to higher level of planetary contribution. The ability to experience any level of significant creative change is a important cycle in the evolution of consciousness. This is the deeper meaning of the “Age of Aquarius.”

The Zodiac sign of Aquarius ends with the positive embodiment of “creative change” and the possibility for metamorphosis, but the actual process of metamorphosis is governed by Neptune, the ruler of Pisces.

Aquarian energy flows into Pisces with Neptune acting as the activator of Piscean energy. Aquarian energy paves the way by vitalizing energies that when disciplined by the mind becomes the quality of brilliance and inspiration that become easily expressed. The deeper challenge is learning to express this transpersonal energy with increased permanency. The mind, once trained and disciplined, is able to execute the strategy of management and organization that becomes a preferred avenue for expressing Aquarian energies.

Aquarius comes to final completion at 30° and is considered a metamorphosis because the organic nature of the Moon is capable of consuming an entire energy ray of a zodiac sign, which in our case starts at 1° Aquarius and finishes at 30° Aquarius. In other words, what was started at last months New Moon was completed in its entirety during one Lunar cycle. The Double New Moon in Aquarius is the quickening of a lifetime and benefits those that utilize the energy in the Age of Aquarius.

Learn Astrology Level I

Beginning Esoteric Astrology

A Brief Description of the Planets, Sun & Moon

Learn Astrology with Esoteric ThinkingIt is important to realize that Astrology is a symbolic language. The language of astrology interprets and describes the overall cosmic pattern, a rhythm of wholeness and intelligence, which is operating both in the universe at a grand level and operating within each of us at a smaller level.

These two levels, the universal and the personal, are typically referred to as the macrocosm and microcosm. The connection between  the two is a fundamental principle of esoteric astrology.

[icon_teaser type=”Sun” style=”astrology16″ title=”Sun”]The centralizing and harmonizing source of light, and life’s sustaining and vitalizing Solar energies. The original LOGOS and integrating factor that gives purpose to individual and holistic existence.[/icon_teaser]

[icon_teaser type=”Moon” style=”astrology16″ title=”Moon”]A reflection of the Solar principle which provides form, organic activity, and bio-psychic structures. It structures through the ego, instincts, and all that nourishes. It functions as one’s ability to adapt to their changing environment. It also functions as a common planetary pair with SATURN, NEPTUNE, and the SUN.[/icon_teaser]

[icon_teaser type=”Mercury” style=”astrology16″  title=”Mercury”]The first differentiation of Solar energy, which allows for the principle of separating into differences, giving rise to duality and the mind. It functions as the lower-mind with the ability to classify, organize, abstract, and communicate within the phenomenal world. It represent intelligence within the world, as the ability to create relationships between that which can identified as have different characteristics.[/icon_teaser]

[fancy_box][fancy_header3 variation=”teal”]Advanced Understandings[/fancy_header3]

Each of the planets has a transcendent aspect, illustrated here in relationship to Mercury.

Mercury has the ability to function in a higher capacity within the higher-self or higher-mind of individuals who are able to pierce through Saturn’s initial boundary to more transcendent understandings. A typical way in which this initial boundary operates is the division between the physical world and the metaphysical world. For those who experience the universe as only that which can be seen, calculated, classified, observed, and proven by a modern science methodology, Mercury does not  function as a conscious planetary pair with Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

Mercury functions as a common planetary pair with both JUPITER and SATURN.
Mercury functions as an uncommon (and in most persons, unconscious) planetary pair with URANUS, NEPTUNE and PLUTO.

MERCURY / JUPITER: Expanding the intuitive function of the mind.
MERCURY / SATURN: To architect new systems of complexity reflecting a new structural need within Humankind.
MERCURY / URANUS: Bringing planetary revelations to the conscious mind.
MERCURY / NEPTUNE: New symbols become new ideals for Humanity-as-a-whole.
MERCURY / PLUTO: Radically transforms the higher mind with a new level of identification built on new ideals and planetary revelations.[/fancy_box]

[icon_teaser type=”Venus” style=”astrology16″ title=”Venus”]The function of centripetal (inner) awareness, giving access to one’s inner realms. The extraction of value and meaning from one’s experiences which give rise to what is needed for harmonization with the inner Self and others. Functions as a planetary pair with Mars.[/icon_teaser]

[icon_teaser type=”Mars” style=”astrology16″ title=”Mars”]The function of a centrifugal (outer) release of energy. That which moves away from one’s center in order to experience that which is greater, and to initiate a creative expression of one’s inner or “centripetal” awareness, associated with Venus.[/icon_teaser]

[icon_teaser type=”Jupiter” style=”astrology16″ title=”Jupiter”]The harmonizing management of that which is structured or contained. This planet symbolizes the function of the principle of expansion and all that is needed in any comprehensive order of activities. It assimilates, organizes and expands all that operates within the framework of the structure that Saturn provides.[/icon_teaser]

[icon_teaser type=”Saturn” style=”astrology16″ title=”Saturn”]The great container. The “active container” or skeleton, boundary, limitation, threshold, of all that is organic and structurally contained within the phenomenal world. It represents the structure of the ego, as well as the structure of tradition, culture and society. Functions as a planetary pair with Jupiter.[/icon_teaser]

Trans-personal Planets or Planets of the Awakened Mind

Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto function to bring Galactic ideas, information, and rhythms of wholeness to the solar system. These planets operate in an unconscious manner for those persons who have not yet begun to awaken to these rhythms from beyond our solar system.

[icon_teaser type=”Uranus” style=”astrology16″ title=”Uranus”]The glimpse of a richer, fuller, and expanded level of participation. Its frequency and function is to shatter that which has crystallized into obsolete forms. It represents the vision from higher realms, descending to the physical, and new revelations from the expanded realm of consciousness operating at a planetary level.[/icon_teaser]

[icon_teaser type=”Neptune” style=”astrology16″ title=”Neptune”]The function of dissolving all that is obsolete. It dissolves all that isn’t in harmony with Wholeness and operating as a universal principle. What dissolves becomes new substance for new universal order and spiritual ideals.[/icon_teaser]

[icon_teaser type=”Pluto” style=”astrology16″ title=”Pluto”]The new order and transformational rhythm of the galaxy. Working with the original Solar purpose and LOGOS in conscious participation with the Wholeness of “planetary-mind.” No less than a complete and radical transformation of the identification and experience of Wholeness.[/icon_teaser]
