Astrology Article —  A Call to the Service of Humanity

Our Aquarius New Moon is bringing a heightened awareness of anticipation of what lies ahead. Our New Moon energies are activating a quality of forward thinking. This is building on the last several Lunar cycles which have increased our ability to feel the energies of the near future before it is yet manifest.

Along with this quality of forward thinking there’s also a sense of urgency that’s running like a silent undercurrent just below the surface of our consciousness. This urgency implies a new sense of our ability to feel the momentum of the changes that are coming.

The Aquarian Undercurrent of Change

This is an unusually significant New Moon. Those individuals who are able to hear or feel these active undercurrents of momentum that are calling to us are experiencing the activations of Aquarius and its ruler Uranus. The larger context of this New Moon is important because of the Aquarian energies and the prominence of Uranus. The role that Aquarius plays in the future adds to the significance.

The reason for the extra significance of this Lunar cycle lies with the sign of Aquarius, the zodiac ruler of the Aquarian Age. This New Moon is aligned with Aquarian qualities of forward thinking, new social horizons, and the inspiration of individual freedoms.  As we enter the 2,160-year cycle of the Aquarian Age, this New Moon adds a tangible anticipation of the many changes that this astrological shift is bringing to our world.

The undercurrent of momentum is being activated by the planet Uranus. Because it’s under the surface, this current of momentum can be misinterpreted and lead to confusion and fear. Our Aquarius New Moon is helping to shift your awareness from experiencing this undercurrent as restlessness, anxiety or fear, into a conscious impulse of inspiration and a desire to participate.

This New Moon impulse represents a new call for each of us to participate in the service of the entire human race, as our Aquarian evolutionary shift begins to fully manifest in new ways in our 3D material world.

Expansion into a New Era

During this Lunar cycle we are directly experiencing another opportunity for the expansion of our consciousness. Uranus is currently activating the expansion of the individual though the stimulation of individualized thought, curiosity and the need for freedom at every level of being.

The practical advice for this Aquarius Lunar cycle is to set the intention to see each moment in the larger context of the greater Aquarian Age.

This evolutionary expansion of consciousness has a shadow quality, especially for those who resist this natural expansion. In Aquarius, Uranian expansion requires a strong sense of individual identity. Resisting this individualizing impulse promotes an external reliance on group identity, including giving in to the status quo through the desire to belong and fear of being an outcast.

The shadow of Aquarius occurs when Uranus energies toward individualized experiences are rejected and pushed down into the subconscious. When this occurs, then Uranian shadow qualities emerge, such as collective fear, anxiety, restlessness, agitation, fear of freedom, and fear of individuality.

Focused Momentum

With the acceleration of our Aquarian New Moon, the momentum of this Lunar cycle needs to be focused and organized. Jupiter is providing this organizational focus for our accelerated expansion.

In our New Moon chart, Jupiter plays a key role as the planet that unlocks the concentrated momentum and organizes the expansion. The Sabian archetype for Jupiter at 8° Pisces describes this expansion as a call to participate in the larger processes of evolutionary development.

 ♃ — 8° PISCES — A GIRL BLOWING A BUGLE
THEME: SUMMONS
ARCHETYPE: A call to participation in the service of the human race as an evolutionary crisis approaches.
COMMENTARY: An emotional relationship of the individual to the collective. The intuitive person begins participating as a new type of individual. What unfolds is the pure potential of wholeness emerging within one’s consciousness. Once an individual envisions this evolutionary development they become a herald of what’s to come. Tomorrow acts through today through an individual who is true to their own nature and also dedicated to the future. This dedication is a form of solemn commitment and cherished purpose of one’s life. This represents both biological and psychic changes that are evolutionarily coming to the planet.

Many of us are feeling this call to the service of humanity as a forward-thinking response to where we are all heading as a global humanity.

Jupiter in our New Moon chart is focused on all of the changes that we are currently experiencing in our world. This dynamic archetype of expansion described at 8° Pisces is directly being energized by Uranus which we will discuss in the astrology section below.

Astrology Pattern

Astrology ChartOur chart is a rare double-sextile bowl pattern, meaning that all of the planets are highly concentrated in a bowl, and also organized for a special purpose as a double sextile. This special purpose is described by Jupiter, which is the central planet of the double sextile (see chart).

The Double Sextile
The planets in our double sextile are Mars, Jupiter, and Uranus. Sextiles are made of 60° angles, and they represent a process of growth and expansion that’s highly organized for a specific quality of development.

These three planets are working together to expand consciousness, allowing the New Moon to harness this new momentum as an active type of future-oriented anticipation. Forward thinking and the anticipation of a positive outcome are the direct antidote for the Uranian shadow qualities of confusion, anxiety and fear.

Mars and Uranus
Over the past several months we have had ongoing New Moon bowls with the planets Mars and Uranus forming the outer rim of the bowl. This is highly significant as the outer rim signifies the boundary and the context of the concentrated quality of the bowl.

Over the past 12 years of studying each New Moon chart, I have observed that the patterns within the larger cycles and the context of those cycles play a more important role than is generally understood or appreciated.

Within this ongoing bowl pattern, Mars works with Uranus to activate an energetic awakening, through circumstances, activities and events. In our current bowl chart, both planets are in earth signs, representing that there will be physical changes to our world and our way of living.

The significance of Mars working with Uranus will continue to unfold over the next six months, when Mars will be transiting (moving across) each planetary position in our current New Moon chart. These transits culminate in six months when Mars will make a direct conjunction with Uranus.

This Mars-Uranus conjunction happens to occur during the Aquarius Full Moon on August 11th. At this time the Full Moon will be in a prominent T-square with Mars, Uranus and the North Node all in conjunction. This developing pattern over the coming six months, leading up to the Aquarius Full Moon, indicates the importance of this particular Aquarius New Moon within the larger Aquarian context.

New Moon & Saturn Squared Uranus
This New Moon square to Uranus represents a necessary type of adjustment. The force of momentum in this Lunar cycle has an unconscious component (Uranus), that requires a new perspective (Aquarius Moon) in order to enable us to fully integrate the degree of changes that are on the horizon.

The Sabian archetype for the New Moon at 13° Aquarius emphasizes the forward-thinking qualities that are available to us now.11th

 13° AQUARIUS —A BAROMETER
THEME: ANTICIPATION
ARCHETYPE: The ability to discover basic natural facts that allow us to plan in advance for action.
COMMENTARY: The use of natural laws to anticipate the cause and relationship of the changing conditions of each moment as they flow into the next. A barometer reads air pressure in the present moment to anticipate weather in the new future through the awareness of cyclic processes, the future is already active in the seed which is at the very core of the NOW moment.

Because the trigger of momentum in this square formation is largely unconscious, the adjustment will come from your ability to be forward thinking and plan ahead.

The shadow of the New Moon and Saturn conjunction squared to Uranus represents the collective resistance to the massive amount of complex momentum that this Capricorn-Aquarian stellium (grouping) represents.

Aquarian Update

This New Moon marks a dramatic shift and an evolutionary leap of consciousness into the future.

What happens between our current Aquarius New Moon and our coming Aquarius Full Moon in six months places our current New Moon within the larger context of the momentum into our Aquarian future.

This momentum is unavoidable. The transformation energies that Mars is initiating over the next six months will be dramatic. Most likely, by mid-August the world will look quite different and will be transformed in unexpected ways.

The Aquarian Age can’t be stopped. However, we have a choice in how we participate. If the momentum is temporarily slowed by a resistance to evolutionary change, then the changes will at times be less graceful and more abrupt. The more we are able to anticipate and plan ahead, the more ease we will experience the process.

Either way, the Aquarian Age will be coming more and more visible as we move forward. This New Moon is an Aquarian call, especially for those are beginning to consciously feel the need to be in service to humanity during this time of great transition.

Summary

There is a feeling of anticipation, and an undercurrent of change, that we will all be experiencing during this New Moon and the coming Lunar cycle.

This is a time to be aware of exactly how these complex and often unconscious Uranian energies are affecting humanity. We must act and respond with compassion to what’s occurring in the world, without compromising our own integrity.

Not everyone will be accepting of these evolutionary changes, especially those who cling to external forms of power and control. For those who are aware of this shift, the coming six months may be the most exciting time period we have ever lived.

Happy New Moon,
Steven Shroyer
